Performance as Publishing

Emma Kay’s work engages with the subjective nature of memory and knowledge, and with a writing practice that relies solely on Kay’s accumulated knowledge rather than using direct references to sources. An Extract from The March departs from this practice in that it is research-based, a poetic monologue from the point of view of an imagined participant in 500 years of non-violent social protest.
