A literary innovator of the Modernist movement, Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) is best known for breaking linear and narrative conventions. This work was written in Nice/Antibes, where she visited Picasso with her partner, Alice B. Toklas. The work is authored 1923, recorded 1935.
