Performance as Publishing

Working with fragments of language gathered from everyday encounters and experiences, Tompkins’ practice incorporates text, sound, installation and performance. Familiar phrases are disguised and odd unions are made through repetition and intonation. In All Your Flashbacks the words communicate as language but also as objects inhabiting space, as concrete poems.
